Do-In – What Is It?
Do-In is a self-massage and self-healing movement system based on the Chinese meridian system. Its goal is to restore and maintain the energetic balance of a person. We treat the meridians by stimulating acupuncture points, stretching the meridians, and massaging the body.
The stretching exercises are like yoga exercises, and the treatment of acupoints is like acupressure. In this system, the flow of energy through breathing and consciousness also plays an important role.
It has Taoism as its background. According to the Chinese energy system that forms the basis, energies flow in the human body, as the body can absorb external energies and channel them. The smooth handling of energy depends on the following factors:
– The smooth flow of energy within the body.
– Normal availability of external sources.
– The basic elements: air, water, light, salts (minerals) and food.
– To produce energy from matter.
– Effective elimination of toxins.
The foundations of Do-in therapy were laid by monks who practiced healing based on Tao-jinn (Do-in) techniques, and their basic principle is the Circulation of Breath for the Purification of the Body.
The exercises are performed sitting or standing.
