Meditation
Meditation is a state of consciousness in which certain areas of the world and our own everyday functioning become accessible. The meaning of meditation from a psychological perspective is to get to know those areas of the psyche that are not directly graspable for rational understanding.
Conditions of Meditation:
- quiet, calm environment
- appropriate posture, calm breathing, relaxed muscles
- peaceful mind
Meditation Techniques:
Meditation is doing nothing, not a goal, but a means, a state. It is not a state of contemplation, thinking or concentration, but a withdrawal from action. I try to maintain this state of doing nothing with concentration. It is by no means daydreaming, I do not give myself over to the strange games and images of the imagination. I temporarily suspend thinking, I pause, I become an empty vessel. The contents of consciousness that we want to contemplate and process later “penetrate” here.
Results of Meditation:
- deeper self-knowledge
- calmness, balance
- processing of psychological conflicts
- revealing deeper layers of illness
