Thai Massage (Wat Pho style) – What Is It?

Like most Eastern massages, Thai massage primarily works with the energy body, as opposed to Western massages, where we focus on the physical body. The essence is in balancing the energy system. The techniques are flexible, soft, and effortless. The goal is to relieve physical and psychological pain and stiffness, and to create flexibility. The client lies (on his back, side, stomach) or sits. The massage therefore achieves its effect by pressing, stretching the muscles, adopting different body positions, and ensuring the free flow of energy. By massaging the ten main energy lines and acupressure points, we can effectively treat the entire body and all its organ systems. If there is a disturbance in the energy flow, the energy cannot flow evenly, which sooner or later leads to disorders and diseases.

Areas of application: musculoskeletal diseases, vegetative nervous system diseases, digestive problems, constipation, gynaecological complaints, asthma, recovery after a heart attack, for the treatment of psychosomatic diseases.
